Anneke Polkamp
Anneke Polkamp leads the Property & Facilities team at the City of Mitcham, where she manages the full lifecycle of council buildings — from acquisition and design, to delivery and long-term stewardship. With a background in social ecology, systemic and organisational development, Anneke brings a uniquely integrative and people-centred approach to public works.
Anneke has worked across business transformation, community and infrastructure portfolios, applying a systems-based perspective to the way places are planned, designed and cared for. She is particularly interested in how public works can act as platforms for regeneration, inclusion and long-term collective value.
The Pasadena Community Centre project exemplifies this approach. Led by a highly cross-functional internal team — and shaped by community voices at every step — the redevelopment transformed an under-used former scout hall into a vibrant, sustainable hub with ambitious eco-credentials. The project integrated engineering, planning, community development and property expertise, all aligned around a shared purpose and informed by local lived experience.
